The advertisment during that time was corruptive. To influence people to buy a product, thay used famous people like Babe Ruth. The different companies had him advertising tabacco. When cars and planes were invented, people were able to build sykscrapers because people were able to get to different place much faster. They used planes for mailing, traffic lights were used so that there was a less prevention of car crashes. Living on credit was not the best idea. people during that time made about 1000 dollars a year and it was not enough to provide for themeselves or their family. Banks were being closed due to the people not being able to pay off their products.

  4. There are many industrial growth in the 1920s. Business and companies are competing against one another by lowering their prices and meeting comsumer's needs. Newspapers were attracting more readers, because they changed their prices also. Railroads are starting to form and transportation is becoming easier. Women were starting to be portrayed as a stay at home person. Women were starting to differ from men in products such as deoderant. Muckrakers were also starting to show up more and talking out to the public. Advertising and installment shaped business and the economy to what it is today. Railroads were made which allowed goods to be transported to one place to another as well as advertising being changed from announcing in a boring way to being able to convince people they needed the product. All these things allowed people to get access to a lot more things, which made this decade prosperous.
The social class that shared in the prosperity was the middle class. Ladies Home Journal and The Saturday Evening Post concentrated on the culture of consumerism and became popular in these middle class homes.
Advertising played a big role in the development of the consumer culture. It changed from being boring to being able to persuade a lot more people. Magazines advertised goods by hiring movie stars and sports figures to help persuade their consumers to buy the product. Magazines also began concentrating on the culture of consumerism instead of reform. These new advertising methods allowed a lot more things to be known to people.
The culture of the time resulted in economic change in the way people were spending as well as what was available. There was a lot more production of goods, which allowed more to be available to the people. This meant that more people were spending and buying on credit, which eventually caused the economy to be in trouble.

Ads also focused on fashion and women were used in the ads to draw attention. Credit also became popular because people could buy items and pay the bill later on. 14. The 1920’s was a very important decade to the United States. During this time the industry, economy, and technology sky rocketed in production. New buildings were being built, roads were paved, suspension bridges were invented, and these are a few things that helped the economy be at its highest level. Because of new technology, like the radio, air mail, and cars the United States was able travel across country in cars, and keep in contact with other countries by using the fast air mail business. Women played a big role in air mail. They were trained how to operate an airplane over vast areas of water.
One of the biggest improvements was paying by credit or lay-away. Buying on credit, people were able to take the item home and pay a certain percentage each week or month. Lay-away was a little different. People were able to have the item put on hold which meant they could pay a certain percentage each week until all the money is paid off. Then they were able to take that item home.
Americans were the first people to really show off their progression towards other countries. This made countries over seas interested in America’s products. This increased the trade between other foreign countries.
And finally, silent films were introduced during the twenties. Some films were about the economy and it showed how it was going to crash. These silent films influenced the people to do what should be done.

In the 1920's is the year where the most contraversy came to be. Because of the variety of new out comings. People started to be more freely opened. Woman started to "show skin". Which back then it wasn't appropiate at what so ever. Females started to wear shorter skirts that would go above the knee. Females started to drink and smoke more openly. They started not to care what other people would say about them and their actions. People also started buying alcohol illgelly. Which that cause many and many more legal problems. Causing alot of chaos in the country.

  18. The 1920's was one of americas cultural revolutions. A very large and signifcant number of things happened, changing the way people interacted and changing the way the amreican average life was. The advertisment industry played an insourmountable role in this decade. As things became more prevalent in this era, the advertisment industry capitilized on the consumer. During this era fashion, housing, transportaiton, and food all had there own companies and they all had advertisment for each of these things. The catchy advertisemtn drew all of these people in to purcahse things they really didnt need and the credit that just newely came out was there stepping stone to get things they reallly dont need at all. The change of the econmoy lead to the change in the poeple. The people felt as if they were invincible and statred spedning away all of thier money and this feeling of having money on lay away lead everyone to spend all that they had and the depression came about
